Netball, Cricket and …..AUSSIE RULES!

Australian Rules Football is one of the hardest hitting sports in the world.  Be on hand to experience the action of the First Annual Down Under Fest Football All-Stars Cup (aka The D.U.F.F.A. Cup). Games will begin early on Saturday, May 26and finishing on Sunday, Monday, May 27, followed by live music, food and beer at the Down Under Fest Pub.

The Atlanta Kookaburras are hosting the event and will invade two sections of the Down Under Fest grounds. Opponents from across the USA will go head to head to vie for the honors of taking home the CUP.

Representatives from the official men’s USAFL (International) team – the American Revolution  will be at the event.

The American Revolution is the Men’s All-Star team and includes the best American footy players from around the country and they compete against national teams from around the world.

The American Revolution team has competed in all 3 International Cups played so far and has finished as high as 3rd place (2005). The Revolution also compete every year except International Cup years against the Canadian Northwind in the 49th Parallel Cup.  The Revos will compete at the next 49th Parallel Cup on August 4, 2012, in Ohio.  Coach Matt Bishop says that he is looking forward to the Revos training camp to be held on May 26th to coincide with the DUFFA Cup, in Atlanta.  The Revolution are named after the American Revolution (an event which gave the country separation from the British Empire) and wear the colors of the American flag. An International Cup is held in Australia every three years.
